Crystal Bowl Healing Meditations with Liz

Picture
Liz is amazingly grateful to Daniel McBride for the ability to bring this healing modality to you. Based on the principles of sound and vibration, crystal bowls are created to the tones of the chakras. The imbalance of a chakra manifests itself in an array of symptoms.  By lying in a state of meditation and simply absorbing the frequency and tone of the sound, you will find that your chakras, the seven energy centers of the body, may become more balanced. Side effects can include better eating habits, more peaceful sleep, an increased awareness of the mind-body connection, improved digestion, and much more. Private sessions are available starting in February. Please contact Liz for further details and to arrange an initial consultation.

Dharana Yoga

Picture
Dharana is a sanskrit term meaning "unbending concentration of the mind". As humans, we are most at ease when we are able to work with complete focus and concentration. Our minds are constantly racing with ideas, worries, and judgements. This often leads to frustration because it inhibits our ability to concentrate on a task. The sixth limb of Ashtanga Yoga, dharana is the practice of focusing on one object, uninterrupted by external or internal distractions.

When we practice dharana, the mind and body are able to settle and relax. Emotions such as anger and frustration subside, and one is left with a feeling of peace. Also known as mindfulness, studies have shown that practicing this step to mediation leads to an increased ability to process and retain new information.

At Dharana Yoga, we are committed to helping our students find inner peace and relaxation. This is done through a program tailored toward the individual student's needs. A full practice includes breathing techniques (pranayama), spiritual/ethical teachings, asana (postures), relaxation and meditation techniques. We are only the guide, as the within you lies the most powerful teacher.

When the mind is still, we know the truth - we can see the truth.
We are a reflection of the great awareness - the divine.
We are not "something" and we cannot identify with the unreal.
We are not our thoughts. When we quiet them, we realize that there is a louder voice.
